Summary: Adobe Classroom Series
Comment: I have used the Classroom in a Book to learn Photoshop in the past. I really enjoy these lessons. I haven't started using the Creative Suite lessons yet but after browsing through the book expect the lesson to be fun to learn.

Summary: For Experienced Users Only
Comment: As a new user of this or ANY such program, I find that this book does not cover the basics. It was used in courses that I took to learn desktop publishing because of job requirements. It's pretty much monkey see, monkey do if you have no experience with this program. You don't learn the reasons why you're following the steps or how to decide which procedures apply when you're working on your own vice working with the lessons provided. I'm looking for a book that gives you a foundation for thinking things through, and this is definitely not it.

Summary: Interesting practice for Adobe Creative Suite 2
Comment: Adobe Creative Suite 2 Class Room in a Book is part of the official training series for Adobe products. This book provides various training projects that cover different fields of the graphic design.
These fields are covered using the application included in the Adobe Creative Suite as following:
· Image editing with Adobe Photoshop CS2.
· Drawing and illustrating with Adobe Illustrator CS2.
· Page layout with Adobe InDesign CS2.
· Web design with GoLive CS2.
· Client reviews and printout with Adobe Acrobat 0.7 Professional and Adobe Reader
· File Sharing with Adobe Version Cue CS2.
· Organizing assets with Adobe Bridge.
If you got a project that needs different graphic contents such as web pages and printouts, this book will provide you a complete solution of how to implement the Adobe CS2 applications to manage and work in your project.
These series is also the official training for the Adobe Certified Expert exam.
Although this book is not a helping guide for Adobe applications, but it provides a how-to steps that complete your knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite application with practice and training.

Summary: I Am A Bit Disappointed
Comment: Since I have purchased other Adobe Classrooms in a Book, I mistakenly believed that this book would contain a complete "Classroom in a Book" section for each application in Adobe CS2. I was wrong. In fact, the entire book is approximately the same size as the Classroom in a Book that was published for Pagemaker 7 alone. Let me restate that: CS2 contains several MAJOR applications, yet the Classroom in a Book for the entire suite is as thin as one published earlier for a single Adobe application!

To make things worse, I did not purchase the earlier Creative Suite software, but owned older versions of some of the applications. Therefore, this book did not come close to addressing my need for learning to use this brand new software suite.

Unless you're already familiar with the first Adobe Creative Suite, I suggest you find another book to purchase for comprehensive coverage of CS2.
