I purchased this 10 months ago and surprisingly it still works perfectly.
I only bought it as a temporary solution until I found my original canon charger (which I never did).
I got it, it worked great. It did take me a little while to figure out the battery had to be turned the opposite way rather than the way I got used to on the original charger. No big deal.
It is a little bigger than the original charger but not huge by any means. I only charge at home so that's really a non issue for me.
I do use the charger almost daily. I had expected it to inevitably conk out in a month or two, after which I planned to purchase a canon replacement charger but it has proven me wrong.
So I'd say overall it was a pretty good buy.

Comment: My aging mother lost the digital camera I got her for Christmas. I found another one on Craigslist for cheap because it didn't have a charger. Little did I know, I could find a better charger than Canon sells on Amazon. I love that it doubles its function in that you can plug it into the wall outlet or the cigarette lighter in the car. My mom is so happy now that she can take pictures of everything that moves again. She loves playing with her camera. When Momma's happy... I'm happy. Thank you for providing such a bargain, Amazon.

Comment: i MISPLACED MY ORIGINAL CHARGER SO I BOUGHT THIS ONE. WHEN I RECEIVED IT I DETECTED A BURNT SMELL. I PLUGGED IT IN AND IT DID NOT WORK. I RETURNED IT FOR A FULL REFUND.

Comment: I purchased this because I had lost my charger that came with my Canon SD1000. I had a week-long fishing trip on the Columbia River planned with my boyfriend where I knew I wanted tons of pictures, so I needed a car charger for my camera (his boat has a cigarette lighter) since I'd be on the water or at camp for a full week. It worked fine and charged the battery in 30 minutes or less on average.
The fact that this is adaptable to a wall outlet as well makes it even better! I was able to use it to charge my camera battery at our hotel after we made a side trip to the Arizona mountains on my way back home.
And you can't beat the price of this charger when a new camera battery would set you back $40 or more each! If you travel often or even not so often, but like to take pictures as much as I do, I highly recommend taking this multi-use charger with you.
