Summary: Solid camera, good price
Comment: I had the powershot G2 and loved it but found it too slow and wanted to upgrade. I love the feature set of the G9 however could not give it a 5 because there is a modest amount of grain on ISOs above 200 (likely due to the higher pixel count). I love the full control and the solid feel of the camera. I have an external speedlight flash that works like a charm with the G9. A major bonus for this type of camera is the use of RAW and this is not so common and always a pleasure. It is slightly boxy and heavy so would not be considered a pocket camera (unless you have very big and deep pocket). I use the included neck strap and look the part of the tourist. I have always been a fan of the Canon line and this is no exception. I can't wait for the day you can have G9 power in an elf body/from factor.

Summary: Very good product!
Comment: After holding out for years withe the 4 megapix G3, I finally upgraded to the G9 - and I'm glad I did! Staying within a Canon product makes the learning curve almost non-existent. This camera takes very good pix.

I also like that tech keeps getting smaller. The G3 uses the now-dated CompactFlash memory card where the G9 uses the SD card. I just happened to have a 4 gig SD card laying around and the size works perfectly, as in I can capture several hundred pix even at the 12.1 mgpixel setting.

My only complaint is that, unlike the G3, the LCD screen isn't on a swivel. Many times, I'll take a pic of my wife and I by holding my arm out to length and snapping the pic. Without the ability to swivel the LCD screen around, it's a guess as to whether I've lined it up correctly.

The utilitarian look of the all-black body is very cool. I've yet to buy any lense adapters but will likely do that in the future.

A good buy! If you go to Pricegrabber.com, you'll find the lowest price. For Aug, 2008, I bought it at BuyDig for $432, no tax, no shipping. Check it out!

Summary: Canon G9
Comment: I just lost my Canon Power Shot S45 camera on a trip to Europe, so I wanted to replace it with an upgraded model of Canon. My Power Shot was fabulous and the G9 promises to be an even greater camera with so much more control over the image! It is a very exciting, semi-professional camera to own without the expense of the digital SLR. I also bought the "Canon PowerShot G9 Photography" short course book and it is more helpful than the manual that came with the camera.

Summary: Super little camera
Comment: The perfect camera for anyone. It has so many features I haven't even attempted most of them. But, for the ease of use it can't be beat!

Summary: What a GREAT camera!!
Comment: The sensor in this camera is unreal. The depth of detail and color makes the images pop out like a film camera with Fuji film.

I expected a great camera but am blown away by the images this little workhorse produces.

Easily the best digital camera I've ever owned.

Perfect 10/10.
