Summary: Top notch housing
Comment: This case and camera is amazing, I love it. I have used the case while wreck diving off North Carolina, Virgina, and in my pool to take great pictures of the kids. It is so easy to use, and the underwater settings of the camera bring out amazing color. I can see bright yellow in my pictures of fish at 95 feet. The flash is strong enough to let the colors come out. I looked around and debated between this and one of the Sealife camera, and I am glad I went with the Fuji. All controls are easy to use, even with 5mm gloves. The large screen is great for ensuring you get the great shots. If you are thinking about it, buy it, you won't be unhappy.

Comment: Took my new housing on 7 dives recently. It didn't leak during my dives, but obviously that's only the minimum criterum... It's quite small and lightweight. I stuffed it into my BC pocket during my backroll rather than have to ask the boat captain to hand it down. I've dragged my expensive camera, strobes, and plates around too long... I love having the ability to record my dive without dragging the extra 20lbs of gear around. Every function on the camera can be controlled while in the housing, however, I doubt you could control more than the shutter and zoom if wearing coldwater gloves. There are some indicators on the buttons but you will want to play with it on land a bit to refamiliarize yourself with the camera functions. I set the preset to "Underwater" while on land, and didn't change anything underwater unless I wanted to shoot video. It is easy to load and unload the camera. Has dual o-rings that look like they should maintain a good seal for a long time. I opened the housing after each dive day, and once on the boat to swap batteries. It doesn't have any areas that trap water, so it's easy to wipe it dry and pop the camera out without getting your camera wet. It comes with a lanyard that is adjustable enough to work with bare skin or a wetsuit. Also has a small diffuser that clips on and has its own tether so it can't pop off and float away. The photos are limited by water clarity and light of course, but the optical clarity of the housing is definitely not limiting in any way. I got some really nice dive pics, including night pics. (For night shots I found that I needed to hit the critter with my dive light and partially press the shutter in order for the camera to focus, then I would move the light away to avoid a hotspot and press the shutter the rest of the way. I got some nice shots even with limited light.) I don't think there's anyway to add a strobe, but you could bring a slave strobe along. It also worked great on land, allowing me to take my camera along on trips to the local waterfalls. Absolutely thrilled with it. Obviously, it's only as good as the camera, but the Fujifilm 40fd45 has very nice optics, auto-focus, and light metering for it's price.

underwater and in splash situations such as white water rafting.
I plan on taking it scuba diving on a tropical vacation later this
year, but so far I have only tested
it out at the local swimming pool ... and I am so impressed.
No leaks. Easy to use controls. Access to all controls so
I can switch from photo to video mode. Awesome.
