Summary: Solid product
Comment: Pros:
- Solid build
- Extra battery time
- 8fps with AAs or EN-EL4a/e
- Works with AA batteries
- Works as advertised
Cons
- Vertical shutter is not the same sensitivity as the one on the D300
- No AF lock button
- Release lever is plastic (potential to break)
-------------------------
Overall it is solid and works quite well. Only thing I wish It had was is a AF lock hold button. I use it a lot when shooting, but I can't reach it using the vertical position.

Summary: Robust
Comment: Provides the extra juice to power through a long day's shoot without having to change batteries. Adds considerable weight.

Summary: Problem With Your MB-D10?
Comment: Purchased a Nikon MB-D10 from Amazon about two months ago. Worked great for two weeks - then it caused the LCD display and the auto focus on my D300 to stop working. Apparently there was a short circuit in the grip. Nikon was great - fixed it in 24 hours. Three weeks later, same problem. Back to Nikon service it went.
Today's UPS brings me a brand new unit from Nikon, no questions asked.
I love Nikon products and realize that nothing is perfect - but Nikon service is close.

Summary: Nikon MB-D10 Batteyr Grip
Comment: This is a great grip! It may be a little more expensive than its predecessors the MB-D80 and MB-D200 but in my opinion it has a better build quality and better design. It locks onto the camera firmly and doesn't feel loose or as if it has any play in its connection to the body. Most importantly it completely changed the feel and balance of D300 for the better. Some people complain of a sensitive shutter, it is slightly more sensitive but i have gotten used to it, and you really only notice its sensitivity in the CH (high fps) mode.
All and all I definitely would recommend this product!

Summary: Usefull addition...
Comment: In terms of use, the MB-D10 is quite better than the battery pack for the D-200, it sits a lot firmer in place and allows for more interaction with the camera body than the MB-D200 does.
The finish and feel are better than the MB-D200.
It holds one EN-EL3e while the body keeps it's own inside and you choose which one of the batteries will be used first.
This makes only two batteries avaliable to the body, just the same as the MB-D200 does.
The MB-D10 requires you take it off the body to re-charge the battery, while the MB-D200 one does not, this is a bit of an annoyance.
The D-300 becomes quite bulky with the pack but it does maintain it's well balanced feeling, particularly while shooting verticals.
I do travel, landscape and nature photography (www.leosalazar.com) and so for me it has become a needed accessory (my D200 has the MB-D200 as well) as my work takes me away from power outlets for hours and days on end. Otherwise, it just adds weight and bulkiness.
As an old timer... I am used to and prefer heavier cameras than today's and so like the heftier feel of the D-300 with the pack.
I have not used nor find the need to get the EN-EL4a battery for my work.
