Summary: Corel customer support is AWFUL
Comment: So I have been using the software for a couple of months now. It still freezes now and then, but I am getting used to it and have found some features that I am enjoying. I purchased it because they touted the ease of downloading photos. The feature where you can pick and choose which photos to download from the camera just plain doesn't work.

The Corel tech person was rude beyond belief, and wanted my credit card number before I could ask any questions other than the initial set up. How can a company treat it's customers so badly while staying in business is beyond me.

Summary: Good product, but likes to crash
Comment: I think it the best featured photo editor under $600. The only thing more powerful (and only slightly) is Photoshop CS3. This will do pretty much everything you could ever need. I think it could easily replace Photoshop for 99% of the users out there. The only complaint I have (and it is a big one) is that it crashes on me about 1 out of 5 times, causing me to lose time and my work. Very frustrating to have your perfect photo 99% done and have the program lock up. I also have had an error from a program called "CorelIOMonitor" crash and error out, or take up lots of CPU when Paint Shop is not even running. I know it is from this product because that is my only Corel product on this computer. So while I love the product, the bugginess and instability is making me want to look elsewhere.

Pros:

-Excellent feature set for the price. Tons more power than Photoshop Elements.
-Nice interface
-Express Lab
-Cool Effects
-Time Machine
-HDR Photomerge
-Price

Cons:

-requires a big monitor. Using a 17" Square monitor with this is a joke and gives you a tiny square to work with. Looks awesome with lots of space on a big widescreen. I'd say you need a 19" or above, preferably widescreen.
-Needs lots of Computer power. Runs awesome on my Quad core system with 3GB of RAM, Pretty slow on my single core 2.4 with 1GB of ram.
-Crashes way too often
-Seems to run other stuff in the background even when you aren't running PSP X2 that are also unstable.

For the price I paid and the feature set, I'll probably keep it, but I am thinking about another more stable product for my main editor so I don't lose work.

Summary: Very disappointed
Comment: I first downloaded PSP X2 from the Corel web site on the internet. My computer crashed, so I decided to purchase the program. Then I had not used it maybe 5 times, and it locked up and would not even allow the most simple funtions (to crop and edit a photograph). Went to Corel web site download a patch, that only made matters worse, then I could not even open PSP or uninstall it. I used the older PSP and loved it. I'm extremely disappointed in this PSP X2!!! Needs a lot of work & improvements! After weeks (literally) of going back and forth with Corel, I finally have it back on my computer, but I've not even tried to use it. It will open, that's all I can say at this point.

Summary: Nice product
Comment: I waited a while after purchasing this product before writing my review because I wanted to have time to check out all of the components of the program. I've used Adobe Photoshop for a long time at my job and love it. When it came time to buy a photo editing program for my personal use at home, I couldn't justify the cost of the Adobe programs. After researching and comparing features of the available photo editing programs and reading numerous product reviews, I decided to purchase PSP Photo X2. So far, I'm happy with it and have been able to easily reproduce many of the photo effects I've used in Adobe. I did have a problem with installation, but once I went to the Corel website and made the suggested changes, it installed without a hitch. Overall, I find it about the same to use as Adobe and I much prefer the price of X2! Adobe Photoshop Elements is a good program for anyone wanting to do simple photo edits, but it lacks many of the in-depth features that are included in the pricier versions of Adobe and in this version of X2.
