Summary: Better quality viewing!
Comment: I first purchased a Smartpants 7 inch frame as a Father's Day present for my husband and after spending hours putting together a chronological slide show of family photos, I played it on the frame and discovered that the photos wouldn't play in the order that I had numbered/labeled them and that the quality of the picture viewing was very poor and that there were no options for changing speed, etc. It also tended to show some pitcures as very small because of the aspect ratio of the frame.

So, I did some on-line research (better late than never) and found good reviews for the Pandigital 8 inch and purchased it as a replacement. The quality of the viewing of the photos is so much better! The higher resolution really makes a difference so be sure to buy a frame with at least 600X800 resolution. In terms of the slideshow option, I discovered you have to copy your photos onto the SD (or other) disc one at a time in the order you want them to play. Arranging them with numerical or alphabetical titles and then copying them as a group won't work on most of the digital photo frames.

The controls on this one are a little confusing. You have to press setup and then exit several times to reach the various levels of controls (?!), but once you figure it out, they work.

The best things about this are the aspect ratio which shows all of your photos at a reasonable size and the high resolution which comes closer to what you see on your computer screen than the low resolution photo frames.

Worth the extra cost!

Summary: Great product!
Comment: This frame is easy to use and the picture quality is great! I had received a cheaper digital frame as a gift and returned it after I realized it was such poor quality. This frame is worth the money! One feature that is nice is that it has a timer - you can have it turn on and off rather than have it run 24/7. It is also made so you don't have to resize your pictures to get them to look good. The cheaper varieties have you resizing, otherwise your pictures look "stretched".

Summary: Good frame
Comment: I bought this frame about 50 days ago and its performance has been flawless.
I used my own SD card with a couple hundred photos and have not used any of the other features. The pictures are clear and crisp and as bright as can be expected from an lcd. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to friends.

Comment: Product works as said. Great as a gift. Its adapter works worldwide. I just plugged it at my place outside US and it just works the same.

Summary: Pandigital Warranty Fulfillment is Horrible!
Comment: Do not buy from Pandigital if you expect to have your item replaced after an RMA. Their RMA is horrible. I bought this same 8" Digital Photo Frame and after one month it was dead. I contacted customer support to get an RMA number. They do not even provide a shipping label for you so you have to pay for it yourself.

After two months of countless phone calls with rude CSRs and being on hold for an hour on average before being connected, I still haven't received the replacement item. The CSRs always tell me that they don't know when the replacement will be sent. I've filed a complaint with the BBB due to my frustration. Will probably stick with named brands such as Kodak and Philips next time.
