Summary: This product and its updates must be installed in order
Comment: I bought Adobe Acrobat 6.0 more than a year ago because someone told me that 7.0 had some glitches to watch out for. I have had to reload the 6.0 software at least 15 times because it hangs up or just stops working. I searched for answers online and finally learned that the problem comes from the updates not being installed correctly. You cannot have updates on the computer that are a later version than the software. I took off all versions of updates for both reader and acrobat and installed just 6.0. Then, I installed the updates and the latest version of Adobe Reader. I haven't had to reload the software since. Hope this helps someone resolve their issues with this product.

Comment: I have used this personally so purchased it for the office. (Someone in the office had purchased the 7.0 Professional Upgrade--but I had nothing to upgrade. By the time I got around to purchasing Standard, I could not find either 6.0 or 7.0 Standard anywhere, except at Amazon.com.) Upon receipt, it was exactly what I had purchased and the price could not be beat.

Summary: Awful version - a huge step back
Comment: Either use version 7.0 or 5.0 --- maybe version 8.0 will return to the unobtrusive, easy-to-use roots of version 5.

This version has major bugs, is really slow, is constantly asking to download and install unrelated software, and adds no useful features (that I've found, anyway).

Comment: I really think many of the visual upgrades made to Acrobat 6(over Acrobat 5) only made it more clumsy. The core product is still great.

Summary: Acrobat 6.0 Standard will not create fillable forms
Comment: I upgraded from Acrobat 5.0 Standard to 6.0 Standard and promptly lost the primary function which I used the program for. In 5.0 Standard you can (and in 6.0 Standard you canNOT) take a regular PDF document and create fillable blanks and checkable boxes. In order to install 6.0 you are told to uninstall 5.0. You are told not to run both on the same machine. Once I uninstalled 5.0 I lost the functionality I needed.
