Energizer Compact Digital Camera Charger With 2 AA And 2 AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries Reviews

Summary: Please don't waste your money!
Comment: As several other reviewers have stated these batteries start out strong but fade very quickly. For the first 4 or 5 charges they performed brilliantly, powering my digital camera with ease and allowing me to take many photos. Then came the sudden drop in performance. I was lucky to get 10 quick shots off before the batteries died. Now they won't even power the little wireless mouse I use with my laptop, much less power up a digital camera.
I have no idea if there are better alternatives out there but I urge you not to waste your money on these.

Summary: DO NOT BUY!
Comment: I bought this kit for a work compact digital camera. They seemed to work OK for the first two charges. Then I'd get batteries where only one or two out of four were adequately charged. I'd have to keep swapping the batteries until I found the two strongest. Not sure if its a charger or battery problem, but either way, they're not worth the raw materials they're made of! And no, I didn't have a multimeter at my disposal to check the voltages.

Summary: Buyer beware
Comment: I opened the package and plugged in the unit, following all instructions. The batteries never charged, i tried moving them to different outlets, even tried an old charger. Still the batteries did not charge. I asked for and received a refund.

#9. Can Energizer chargers be used overseas with an adapter?
We do not recommend using our chargers that are designed for US power (120 volts AC at 60 HZ) in foreign countries that have a different power supply. Using overseas voltage adapters can result in permanent damage to charger or wall plug adapter circuitry.

Summary: A great traveling charger? (very compact)
Comment: I bought this charger for it's compact size (flip out plug, slides closed to 'bout 1/2 it's size when it's charging) and leave it in my camera bag so I'm never caught without a charger. It takes up much less space than my Sony DSC-H5 camera's OEM charger, so I leave the Sony at home.
I can't give you a long-term review since I just got it.
BTW...I see Eveready's site says their NiMH batteries do not suffer from the "memory" problem of other batteries. According to my Sony manual, it sounds like Sony NiMH batteries do have memory issues. If this is true, then the Eveready's should be better than other batteries AFA memory issues?
