Comment: This lens is sharp, Sharp, SHARP!! And TINY!!

I just took it shooting on a trip to Arizona and came out with some amazing shots, including beautiful sunsets and amazing portraits. It focuses very quickly for an AF lens, and it performs astounding in low light. Because it is so sharp, when I need to boost my ISO up to around 1600, I still end up with great detail (and knock out some of the noise in Lightroom).

On another note, if you are thinking of using this for a serious portrait lens, only use it for torso shots or wider. Get the 85mm f1.8 (only about two hundred dollars more) because it has a better compression factor for more natural looking shots.

Comment: A great inexpensive light weight lens. I use it for mainly shooting up close; quick snap shots. Very fast, relatively quiet, nNice bang for the buck! Met my expectations. Only downside is no case. I would have rather paid an additional $20 or $30 dollars to get a quality case with the lens.

Comment: This is an amazing lens. You can definately tell a difference between the f/1.8 on this and the f/3.5 that come with the default lens. The depth of field from this lens is incredible. I use this lens for portraits and the focus is perfect. Great price also, very affordable for a beginning photographer.
